Special delivery gone missing
Hi Guys
My name is Brian, and is nearly always the case...a newbie with a problem.
I should have had a parcel deliverd this time last week, the sender sent it RMSD 1pm guarnteed delivery.
Needles to say its not turned up,still progressing through thair network according to thair tracking site.
I have phoned and spoke to 6 different people, who insist ts not lost,it is in the Glasgow sorting office.Whare it
was last scanned, this time last week at 4.30am,and not been scanne since.I am sick of looking for a royal mail van
that does not turn up.Have been told my sender cant star the claims process till next friday the 22nd.How can a RMSD parcel go missing for a week, when i would imagine they get priority?
Incidently the contents of the box,is the action only of a low powered sporting target air rifle. It was away getting tuned and was on its way back.It was sent RMSD by the sender,a well known tuning company, apart from Parcel Force 48hr...RMSD is the only legal way to transport, said items through Royal Mail.
cheers
Brian

Re: Special delivery gone missing
The package will have been xrayed. They will be checking the contents to see if it is on the restricted items list. Can take some time and will be lucky if you ever see it again. I have had 2 items destroyed this week and I'm disputing them both but the whole thing is like pulling teeth.
If you keep checking the track and trace it will prob change to a message about being inspected.

Re: Special delivery gone missing
its been sent to the national return centre in belfast for some reason, looks like its been undelivered for 7 days and returned to sender but no return address(thats just what it looks like, shouldnt have happened until 18 days and might not be why), you will need to get the sender to contact customer services on 08457 740 740 to resolve the issuesamperuso1 wrote:Hizx135 wrote:could you put the reference number in here:

Just of the phone to royal mail.It has been x rayed, and deemed to want further examination. It is the action of a low calibre about 10ftlb sporting target rifle, only the action, and buddy bottle. It make no difference that, it was posted using the correct service..If i get it back before xmas in one piece,i will be lucky.zx135 wrote:its been sent to the national return centre in belfast for some reason, looks like its been undelivered for 7 days and returned to sender but no return address(thats just what it looks like, shouldnt have happened until 18 days and might not be why), you will need to get the sender to contact customer services on 08457 740 740 to resolve the issuesamperuso1 wrote:Hizx135 wrote:could you put the reference number in here:

Re: Special delivery gone missing
Anybody got the Belfast Return Centre number?
All air rifles need a FAC in Ireland,so i will have to get the company who sent me the gun to phone up
and request they send the parcel back to them, because they are FAC holders...That is only if they deem it breaks thair rules, witch it definetly does, was posted correctly, using RMSD
cheers

as i said earlier, you need to get the sender to contact customer services on 08457 740 740, there is no customer number for the returns centre, send has to contact customer services to sort things out, the FAC thing is not going to be an issue as its not a rifle being sent to/from NI, its only been routed there for examination and does not need a FAC as long as it complies with the rest of uk rules and isnt a section 1 firearm

Re: Special delivery gone missing
You might get a message saying it is being returned to sender but it is not the package. What they do is send you a letter with the same 13 digit code as the packet you sent. The letter is a standard one saying your item has been disposed of and that they will not prosecute this time and that the matter is now closed.samperuso1 wrote:Not filling me with confidence that is.Funny enough the tracking sight has just got a message up telling mebuckrogers wrote:The package will have been xrayed. That's the problem I'm having at the moment and I work for them! It's like banging your head against a brick wall. I hope they inspect yours and see that it's all ok.samperuso1 wrote:If they do that mate,i will chase them till i get my money,as it was posted using Royal Mails own guide lines.Once its gonebuckrogers wrote:You might get a message saying it is being returned to sender but it is not the package. Re: Special delivery gone missing
Just curious, if this parcel does reach its destination in the end, as it's taken far longer than next day delivery. Would the sender be able to claim the postage back? As surely it's failure to provide a service.
