help

Post by tvsuzy »

Sky have sent my router to an address I left 3 years ago. I have five days to retrieve it before switching from BT to Sky. They say there is nothing they can do to retrieve it as it has already been processes. Tracking number shows it at National distribution centre. Can I ring them and change the delivery on this parcel to my present address? Any help gratefully received.

Phoning the distribution centre won't make any difference, they won't be able to redirect your router. That will be 'returned to sender' after attempting to deliver it to your old address. You need to get hold of Sky and get them to send you another one to your current address, after all, they want your business.
You don't say why Sky are using an address that is three years out of date. You may need to update your details on your account with them.
Either way, Sky will send you another router. Phone them on 08442 411 653 and tell them what's happened.

Thank you for your kind reply
Many thanks for your reply. Yes I have spoken to Sky on 5 occasions - seems my old address is in Sky's deep storage and keeps popping up when something is to be delivered. All my details are correct on their new system..... however, they assure me, again, that it has now been deleted. A new Sky router is on it's way (they say), we shall see.
I did have an idea they would not divert the package, many thanks for confirming.
Have a nice Christmas

IIRC, a few years back, we had this quite a lot with the BT ones. They were sending them out to addresses people hadn't been at for years. We had people collecting them with ID showing the correct name and they were allowed to collect it.
