Hi
I´m from Sweden so i know nothing about Royal mail´s routines. I´m waiting for a parcel coming to me here in Sweden. It is posted near London and has been sent to Swindon mail centre. It was posted on Monday 2 days ago. The RM tracking site with only the last info says, "your item has been received at our international mail centre and is being made ready for despatch overseas."
The other RM tracking site with more info shows it´s last status as "DESPATCHABLE TOHWDC SIGNED FOR ROAD 2" and location is Swindon mail centre.
It has been this status for about 48 hours. This tells me the parcel is still in Swindon mail centre since the last track point was there.
And if the parcel had arrived to Heathrow it should been updated on the tracking site saying the parcel is at Heathrow.
So my questions is, Is it still in Swindon mail centre or can it be in Heathrow. And if it is still in Swindon mail centre is that normal to be there for 48 hours?
I have been looking at other peoples tracking info and often the parcel is not in the mail centre for more than a few hours before it is driven to Heathrow, and then arriving at Heathrow a few hours later, depending on the distance.
Can it be that the tracking site with more info is updated later than the other one?
The shipping service used is Royal Mail international Signed for.
I would really appreciate if you people who knows about these things could help me out. And i know it has only been two days, but it is the 48 hour stay in the mail centre that confuses me. And also signed for is aimed to be shipped within 3-4 days and now it is the second day and it looks as it is still almost where it was posted.
Thanks for your help.
Regards.

Re: Help with RM status
That is a HWDC status so it has got to heathrow - that scan should be later than the Swindon one but isn't 100% confirmation.your item has been received at our international mail centre and is being made ready for despatch overseas."
There will be no more scans from Royal Mail as its a International Signed for but your local Postal Service Provider (Posten ?) may scan it as it goes through their system http://www.posten.se/en/Customer-Servic ... -mail.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; if they - I am not 100% sure it will be reflected in either of the sites you used for Royal Mail.

Re: Help with RM status
Thanks, i really hope its like that. But the Swindon scan was on a different tracking site, also a Royal mail tracking site, the one that also shows all the previous scans, and that tracking site use to say "Received at Heathrow Worldwide DC", but it hasn't updated with that status, that´s why i was thinking that it´s still in Swindon mail centre because that was the track point on the last scan on that tracking site.
But okay then i have to wait and see what´s happening. It should be typical if this parcel gets lost because it is an expensive item.
