Small Parcels - a climb down???

Post by harry84 »

"Royal Mail is extending the definition of a “Small Parcel” within its portfolio to include parcels up to the size of a large shoebox.

The UK universal service provider launched a month-long consultation among its customers yesterday into the proposal.

The move would see a parcel from consumers, non-contracted small businesses and franking customers designated as a “Small Parcel” if it was anything smaller than 350 x 250 x 160mm in dimension. Items up to 450 x 350 x 80mm would also be priced as Small Parcels.

It will see some parcels currently classified as “Medium Parcels” joining the Small Parcels category."

They're certainly using the new templates at my local post office. Each of the post and go machines now has a new size box on top to measure them.
