Re: Your £300 Lump Sum
The formal notice the CWU have to give is in line with the employment laws and it seeks the union inform the employer 7 days in advance of strike action and it requires the CWU to list the numbers of members in each workplace and the times it is calling action on.
This is normally the notice where employers attempt to try and get an injunction on hence why we only give the employee the legal limit of seven days notice,

I agree why should we make it any easier for them and the action short of withdraw of labour?dingo wrote:The formal notice the CWU have to give is in line with the employment laws and it seeks the union inform the employer 7 days in advance of strike action and it requires the CWU to list the numbers of members in each workplace and the times it is calling action on.

Re: Your £300 Lump Sum
Would it be posible for the union to call different office units at slightly different strike times, i.e. some offices start at 0000h to 2359, another set of offices from 0030 to 0029 and so on, and so on.....thus spreading a 24 hour strike over nearly 48 hoursdingo wrote:The formal notice the CWU have to give is in line with the employment laws and it seeks the union inform the employer 7 days in advance of strike action and it requires the CWU to list the numbers of members in each workplace and the times it is calling action on.

Re: Your £300 Lump Sum
Yes every unit would strike for 24 hours each, but different units would be on strike for different times, thus speading the strike over a total of 47h59m.bringon4dayweeks wrote:Cut Off King wrote:Would it be posible for the union to call different office units at slightly different strike times, i.e. some offices start at 0000h to 2359, another set of offices from 0030 to 0029 and so on, and so on.....thus spreading a 24 hour strike over nearly 48 hoursdingo wrote:The formal notice the CWU have to give is in line with the employment laws and it seeks the union inform the employer 7 days in advance of strike action and it requires the CWU to list the numbers of members in each workplace and the times it is calling action on.

Also it would make it harder for RM to ship in managers to cover different units. It would cost RM in managers travel time.

Re: Your £300 Lump Sum
I don't think we are on the same sheet, I'm talking about say XXX delivery office going out at 0000h. Then mailcentre xxx going out at 0030h, then drivers from XXX going out at 0100h followed by delivery office xxx going out at 0130h.....etc. etc. etc.........mixing up who's on strike & when.....Its got to be worth a try.....It justs mess's up the flow of the mailbringon4dayweeks wrote:you havent read my post cut offCut Off King wrote:Yes every unit would strike for 24 hours each, but different units would be on strike for different times, thus speading the strike over a total of 47h59m.bringon4dayweeks wrote:Cut Off King wrote:Would it be posible for the union to call different office units at slightly different strike times, i.e. some offices start at 0000h to 2359, another set of offices from 0030 to 0029 and so on, and so on.....thus spreading a 24 hour strike over nearly 48 hoursdingo wrote:The formal notice the CWU have to give is in line with the employment laws and it seeks the union inform the employer 7 days in advance of strike action and it requires the CWU to list the numbers of members in each workplace and the times it is calling action on.

That way we'd all lose a days pay, but disrupt RM for 48 hours...
It might be worth a try

Re: Your £300 Lump Sum
With that you would still have all functions (MCs, DOs and drivers) going out on the same day. If you have different areas going out on different days then RM would just divert the work to areas that aren't out and have them sort it, then the DOs would get hit with two days worth of work.Cut Off King wrote:I don't think we are on the same sheet, I'm talking about say XXX delivery office going out at 0000h. There is no £300. Never was.
