For the lurking managers please comment and join in, you will get flack thats in the nature of your job, but if you couldn't handle it then management is not for you. However, I firmly believe it is good to hear real views from the opposite side as the only way communication works is if both sides are honest and open. Snidey, childish and comments designed to get a reaction are not welcome, although, sadly, we get plenty of them already.

I am one of those lurking managers though I have never hid the fact I am a manager . I have posted several comments and have used the forums to give advice and comment to anyone who so seeks it. I am not here to get involved in some of the silly stuff but to voice my opinions on things that affect me as well as posties .i do fully support the fight for terms and conditions as it affects me as well. My personal view is that the CWU have been outflanked on this one by Royal Mail and it could have been done better which leaves me to believe all is not what it seems and a token strike will be followed by a deal.

Can't beat a bit Of lurking
Towers probably right
Days of striking actually achieving anything are almost over
I'll be on the gate though
Got to at least try
.....
Wish some of our managers gave advice instead of insulting/harassing and treating Postie's like scum when you don't want
The overtime-then don't pay the full amount.
:no no
I won

To be clear by lurking managers, I do not include 74tower and a few other managers who also post, we might not see eye to eye, but at least they have the courage of their convictions. Its the ones that use this site primarily to get information on posters, and occasionally use that information to dismiss or discipline. Yes people should follow the rules of RMC, and those of Royal Mail that apply to social media, and the relevant recommendations of the Union, and if they fail to do so they must also accept at least some responsibility for the situation, but to use this site primarily to target employees is the lowest of the low.

I just wish the other non posting managers would come out of the woodwork and engage with RMC members. Hearing only one side of a discussion is helpful to no-one and you never know, it might spill over into work and improve communication overall. Its one thing the Union and Royal Mail have in common is that they find it difficult to communicate honestly with the people at the coal face. They both have valid reasons why they put a certain gloss on things but it runs the risk of members becoming disengaged and apathetic. Two for instances are the "Deal of the Century" and "Royal Mails Pay Offer", both were meant to promote a "good" message to the target audience, both failed.
