You spout the biggest load of rubbish I read on this forum. I don't know why you are still working for RM when you quite clearly hate the company and your job. I've got one last tip for you, you keep going on about unpaid overtime - how about you just refuse to work it in the first place and go home on time instead?
This is the biggest load of rubbish I have read. I love my job and do it because I like it. When I no longer enjoy I move on. I certainly never do unpaid overtime and we are always paid and we have to do it because it's part of our contracts! T&c's as you call it which are fair because that's what the union agreed them.
I don't think he was talking to you.
No I wasn't.

I know this is a forum, and as such most of us come on here and moan about this, that and the other within RM. But generally we still like our jobs, I just can't understand why some people don't go elsewhere if they have such a hatred of their employer and their job.

Sorry if I got a bit confused but on the point of financial wizard that is not me. I do though invest and do quiet well but also things do go wrong. But if they do I only have myself to blame and that's the risks I take. Then I'll explain to the wife were our money has gone!

If you bought extra shares, under the employee priority scheme, are you allowed to sell those when you like?

It would be easier if people do not quote all the nested replies - just the one that they want to reference... Save bandwidth and storage space too. :whistle

Some people like to see others do badly just because they do not agree with them.

It would have been irresponsible to urge posties to invest in the Royal Mail shares but the signs and evidence were there - that the company was being undervalues. The property portfolio that RM has is probably in itself worth £3.3 billion...

Come to think of it, we posties have done very well out of this floatation - we are the only private investors allowed to have more than £750 worth of shares. That was good of them!

Having said the above, one has to respect those that Opted Out - for whatever reasons: principles and all that.

On the other hand some that did not opt out are still spouting trash and telling us that the shares will be worth nothing, they are like colleague shares and the Govt/RM will plotting to take them away from us or reduce the shares price. :arrrghhh :arrrghhh :arrrghhh.

Personally, I would have preferred the business to stay Public but it has not - so we move on and do the best with the situation we have been presented.

Lastly, I do understand that not many have £500 savings that they could have gambled but I know a lot of posties that like a flutter and a good drink. And this investment would have been better than going to the bookies...

Cloherty - respect man! More people are now beginning to openly share some of your ideas and wisdom. Sometimes, one man can be an Island... :cuppa

I might not agree 100% (close) with you but I have always* seen sense in your posts.

The thing is others are beginning to be more vocal against the more militant and sometimes foul-mouthed posters on here. This is an info and debating forum - it works almost all the time except for the odd times when people start to get personal and spread untruths and rumours as facts.

Peace!

Or when others use the forum to constantly promote the same agenda time after time after time....
You are unfortunately one of the worst offenders, and your friend is another.
The irony of you two trying to tell others how and when the forum works best I would imagine wouldn't be lost on many posters.

Can you show me any evidence of this beige uprising you and cloherty are apparently leading?

I think the forum works best when it fosters a bromance.
And I think it is in the rules that the top 5 posters all get a slice of wedding cake.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Fishtank I don't go researching peoples comments and only reply to comments posted about me. I do have an opinion and that is all it is. Though I did come across one of yours and it said something like sinking ship better look for some other form work back in 2011. I think your still here maybe I am wrong. Sorry to be in the minority of I like the job..maybe you can split this up and turn things around for me.

If you're looking to grab a minority slot you'll have to look elsewhere.
Most of the guys on here like their job, some of them accept that it's just a job and put up with it and a small minority hate it.

This forum is a place to discuss the issues hopefully free from agenda and propaganda because that's what they get at work and lying on the floor waiting for them when they get home from work and they really don't need any more of it when they come on here.

Your agenda is pretty blatant and obvious whether you pretend to be or are oblivious to it.

and why are you trawling through my past posts?
If you want to know something about me just ask although chris might get jealous.

Certainly not trawling through your posts just pressed a button and it was there. Don't remember how and don't remember where and certainly not going to waste my time finding it. My apology to Chris once again..

None of the post was aimed at you  it was sarcasm aimed at the person who constantly states the shares will be worth nothing in 3 years and we'll all be on minimum wage, if we have a job at all.

All complete bollox of course.

Well in my opinion(and don't forget it's just an opinion this is a forum) all of what you said above could actually happen which is why I used my vote accordingly you can't say it's bollox cos it may happen if we don't get a vote for action.
