Franking Machine Die Number - Help Please
I am trying to locate the Company and its address which keeps sending me mail.
They use a Franking Machine with the Die Number PB079504 . It has a London Postmark if that is of any help!
Can anyone tell me who it is and what their address is please?
Thanks
Bob

You could ask Royal Mail Customer Services on 08457 740 740 but I don't know if they would give out that info

Or try Pitney Bowes who hold that franking account - http://www.pitneybowes.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.
PBXXXXXX Meter codes are all Pitney Bowes accounts/machines

Re: Franking Machine Die Number - Help Please
just a suggestion, what exactly is it your being sent? you probably get a reply on here with an address for the company involved if we knew exactly what you were getting without having to try and track down a franking number that unfortunately your unlikely to actually be given

Re: Franking Machine Die Number - Help Please
Zx35,
The envelope is handwritten, and addressed to my daughter, but franked as I outlined.
The contents are at best unpleasant and do not have a name or address on hence my attempt to track down the source on here.
My plan if I could get the name and address of the Company concerned would be to write to them and explain what's happening so they could intercept/stop at source. It for sure is a nasty individual who is using their franking machine for personal letters.
If necessary I will go to the police but thought I would try and sort it out myself first.

zx135,
Thanks for your reply, I just thought it was worth a try before getting the Police involved with all that will entail. Was trying to keep my daughter out of it but it seems that wont be possible.
Why is the name and address of a company franking machine confidential?

its the contract that confidential, same as you would find it difficult to find out who they were was by calling the mobile provider and asking who a mobile phone number belongs, companies are just not allowed to give out that sort of informationBobG wrote:zx135,

one thing you could do if you wished, if you scribble out your daughters address, scrible out the two orange bar codes, put a letter back in the envelope with your complaint and write on the front of sealed envelope, item refused return to sender, the envelope should go back to the company that sent it

If the material is offensive and you believe a crime has been committed it might be worth contacting these people as well as the police.
Security Helpdesk on 0207 239 6655 or email:securityhelpdesk@royalmail.com.
They will have a better chance of tracing the source of the problem and to be quite honest the police may just fob you off.

Yes, except that "scrible out the two orange bar codes" doesn't work, small pieces of paper need sticking over them.zx135 wrote:no problemsBobG wrote:zx135

Re: Franking Machine Die Number - Help Please
Plus of course franked mail with no return address is destroyed as confidential waste, not returned to the (unknown, because no return address) sender. They only get it back if they put a return address on the envelope.
