I'm an idiot! (Wrong post code)

Post by Alkrey »

I made a few orders from china recently which are currently en route to me.I decided to make another order and noticed that I had written my girlfriends address but my postcode  . We live about 5 mins apart so the parcels will go to the correct sorting office but what are the chances they'll actually be delivered? Is there anyway I could possibly intercept the packages to pick them up?

If they do get returned to sender any idea of how long that will take?

Any help is much appreciated, as mentioned before, I am an idiot.

I hope you're right. The first parcel arrived at heathrow today so I'll know pretty soon. I'll update this topic with the results incase anyone else is as stupid as me.

Thanks for the quick response.

I hope you get your parcels! I accidental put the wrong last letter of a postcode on items on a uk order on the 10th and 16th September (my stupid error 1st that google chrome stored and thus I repeated) and haven't received either item yet and the place is usually pretty reliable so I can only assume they were posted else where or might eventually be returned to sender. :(

Where were they coming from? I've read that if the address is wrong your parcel may still arrive but will be delayed.

That's what I'm hoping for.

Its from Shopto which is Berkshire UK to me in Oxfordshire. I'm hoping they will turn up at some point.. :/ My postal service is horrendous at the moment so perhaps they will. Other items ordered from Blockbuster on the 20th also haven't turned up yet either (correct address :P). I think I'll have to abandon online shopping soon!

Hopefully the guy is right about you getting your items though. I had a google and most seemed to indicate the item should get there (eventually!) :)

Update:

Success! First package was delivered today to the girlfriends house. Arrived in heathrow yesterday at 7am, and delivered today so looks like it wasn't delayed at all.

Second package arrived at heathrow yesterday at 6pm so I'm hopeful that will be delivered tomorrow.

Great work by the Royal Mail to see through my cunning ploy of pretending to be too stupid to remember my own address ;liar

Just to clarify incase anyone else has a similar problem all address was correct except for the last 3 characters of the post code. Also Royal Mail tracking showed no progress after confirming the time the parcel arrived at heathrow. So if yours isn't updating it doesn't mean it's not on its way.

Signed a happy idiot.

Good to hear! I'm now over 15 days waiting for my first mistake to turn up (only last letter of postcode wrong in entire address!) so I think I haven't been as lucky - silly me. :/

When you see some of the stuff that gets posted and delivered successfully by the dedicated RM staff, you wouldn't worry about something as insignificant as a slightly wrong postcode ;-)
