I think that obviously the privatisation could be done in next 4 weeks and that would mean no lump sum being paid as in previous offer. They would not raise the 2.6% by much so obviously we would undoubtedly Lose out both ways!
Of course they could see if coming, and yes they are still in discussion. But your position is flawed for one simple reason. The offer was rejected by the Union on the back of a consultative ballot because it was not acceptable.cloherty1976 wrote:cloherty1976 wrote:Fishtank are they talking about the pay deal at the moment or both sides are just miles apart? Did the union see this coming that they would have it done before strike?
Well oddly enough, in the last deal, which was a negotiated settlement, the pension has been downgraded, the workload IS ever increasing, the 3 year pay deal was below the level of inflation, earnings have decreased and B&H has been a problem for two years at least and that after industrial action in 2009 - sooooo what magic wand is going to create a newer better deal than the last one?TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Vote NO in the ballot if you think the offer is acceptable - vote Yes if it isn't - it is really that simple.
If you can accept a no strike deal, weaker pensions over time because of the 5% cap, ever increasing workloads with no input from you or the Union, a pay offer that is below predicted inflation over the whole 3 years, that the current workload situation in deliveries is Okay. and, if you think that Managerial B&H is acceptable in its present form - then reject the strike ballot and tick the No box.
Hopefully most can see beyond the £££££ signs and will support the strike.
