Tube damage

Post by alggomas »

Apart from the other comments you have read i can only offer some observations.

This has only happened in the last couple of months;
Something/someone has changed down the line.

You do not say if the damaged tubes are more from a certain area.

I buy and sell on ebay and I have had no damage problems.

You seem to be packaging your goods OK.

I would write to Alan Leighton OR Mr. Crozier and suggest they look into the problem you are having with the tubes.

I would also write to the delivery manager [CC] asking if you sent buy RECORDED mail would the postman deliver a damaged tube? [You can also get compensation].
Normally if we find something danage we have a special duty in which we repack the item [although it is damaged already] and send it on.

You could also suggest to allan Leighton to start a new service wher if the item is badly damaged they inform you when and where it was received damaged.

It is quite possible that somewhere in the chain of delivery, work practrices have changed.

I am sorry you are having this problem and hope that my suggestions and others will help you get a better service.Whether you send ONE tube or many all items should be treated with care.

Regards.

parcels damaged

Post by pixiedust »

i also post out about the same number as parcels as you, and do get damaged parcels but not that many, i pack in light cardboard boxes, so i small tube would be wrapped and then put in i box, i work for royal maila and see what happens to the parcels so pack mine in a way they will not get damaged. a light cardboard box does not cost alot to post and many local business will be glad to get rid of their packing for free.
also remember when its wet the postie has trouble keeping the parcel dry , so anything that would be damaged by water i pack in plastic bag

tubes damaged.

Really and truly mail handled by postmen should not get damaged.

It is only when machines take over that mail is more likely to be damaged.
You need to check to see whether your mail goes through a machine.

get WRITTEN and DATED yes/no from your local office MANAGER.

It does seem strange your having so many damaged , to get one damaged at the end of the line is bad to get so many damaged at the end of the line is very unlikely, my guess is they are bieng damaged at the same time, at some point at the start of the postal line for some reason
ie all the tubes in one collection bag and crushed some how
