Royal Mail International Signed-For to Australia?

Post by Pommygranate »

How does the tracking work for shipments to Australia using RMI signed-for?

Does the online tracking tool show a signature/delivery confirmation?

Not for Australia Pommygranate, it's not one of the countries listed here that provide that service

so i guess you'll only be able to track it up to the point it leaves the UK.

Parcels to Oz cannot be tracked online once left UK.

However, the recipient can contact AusPost by phone from within AU and they can normally give more information.

So, in other words, shipping to Australia using RM ISF means that in the event of an eBay/PayPal claim, I have no chance of winning the case because I can't show confirmation of delivery?!

Guess I'll be sticking to a private courier then!

(And here I was thinking that the RM could atleast provide a better service than AusPost back at home!)

and thats the problem, we don't deliver in Australia we use Hoons on Mopeds commonly known as AusPost. So its Auspost providing the service in Australia not us.

So RM works like USPS then...handing over to the local postal system of the designated country?

But then USPS Priority Packages CAN be tracked properly, and DO have delivery confirmation...how come RM ISF doesn't?

It will be down to reciprocal agreements - if there is one its tracked, if there isn't it's not. US senders have the same problem in the UK as you do in Australia because of no agreement being in place.

If you e-mail in to Australia Post they will provide you with the status of your parcel even although their website does not show any tracking history. They are usually quick to reply back. I've not required signatures in the past as it hasn't got to that stage but remember to pop your RM tracking number into the enquiry when e-mailing them along with the recipients full name + address. You can contact them using the link below:

Australia is one of the countries which accepts Airsure items. This only costs a few pence more than international signed for and is trackable all the way, though it isn't signed for.
