1st Class parcel from N.Ireland to London late/missing?

Post by ljmatz »

My pal recently moved to London so i posted a bit of a care package as a first class parcel which was 1.6kg to Brixton, London from Northern Ireland. It was posted on a Friday morning just after 11am, and i was hoping for it to arrive at some point on the saturday or the Monday.. It's now Tuesday night and still hasn't arrived. I know they say they aim to deliver 1st class the next day if it's sent before midday so should i consider it's missing now? :/ Is delivery in London maybe a little longer as it's pretty huge?

First Class is not guaranteed and delivery aim is 1-3 working days. Packets, especially larger ones, can take the upper end of this and longer transits are not unheard of.

Does your parcel contain anything that is classed as prohibited or restricted in the UK? See http://www.royalmail.com/personal/help- ... ited-Goods" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Otherwise might be worth having the recipient check with their local Delivery Office in case it's already been attempted? From the sounds of it it would not be going through the letterbox!

It's a shoebox size so no letter boxing no! But there hasn't been any delivery cards left for him, he's out at work every day and checks when he comes home. There was nothing prohibited :( Friday Monday and Tuesday would be three days considering it was sent at 11am on the Friday? I will try ring his local sorting office in the morning to see. Thanks for your reply. Hopefully it will arrive tomorrow!
