Alright postal workers, i firmly support the strike and wish you all the best. I believe the strike centres around the intesification of the working process, job losses and the scaling down of pensions. But could anyone give me a brief outline of the exact proposals that Royal Mail bosses are making. That would be greatly appreciated.
In solidarity

Journalist? I wish, temp working for the NHS i'm affraid. Ive posted on here before but i've let the dispute pass me by apart from handing out a few Wobbly leaflets in support of the strike. I tend to get into lots of arguments with people (usually small employers) who criticise royal mail workers and i just like to have someammunition to hit them with apart from the obligatory "their struggle is my sturggle and the struggle of countless others" stuff.

This business is now run by two people with no transferable skills, and they're both millionaires. At least you didn't knacker a famous football club or make a balls-up of the national stadium.Laz wrote:no i'm an admin worker, utterly disposable, with little or no transferable skills, cannon fodder! I know people who work in the blood bank though.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
