NEED HELP WITH INTERNATIONAL POSTING

Post by sgtmason1095 »

Hello i wish to send some electrical equipment to the republic of Ireland but im a bit confused please if anybody can help me answer these questions.

I think i can fit it into a royal mail padded envelope but is their a certain weight limit on padded envelopes or is it how much you can fit into the envelope?

Please can somebody tell me what stamps i will require for this?

And what type of delivery do i also require for this? eg air mail or something else

Thank you to anybody that can help i really appreciate it

Your best bet is to take the item to a Post Office who will advise you on those issues but briefly:

* max weight 2kg (there are exceptions for Printed Papers but that doesn't cover electrical equipment and Ireland has a partial exemption to that exception anyway)
* max size - as the item isn't tube shaped, all three dimensions (length + width + breadth) added together must be less than 900mm and no single side can be longer than 600mm
* Airmail is probably the right service to use but you might want to consider tracking and/or additional compensation cover via International Signed For or Airsure

If your electrical equipment involves lithium batteries of any kind then pay close attention to the rules on restricted goods at http://www.royalmail.com/business/help- ... rseas-mail If you post your item at a Post Office then they will advise you on those rules. Failure to follow those rules can lead to your item being destroyed
