USPS EXPRESS INTERNATIONAL SERVICE

Post by saints12345 »

Hello,
I am just trying to get some information on what's likely happened to my parcel.

Though i have bought items from the USA before i have never used the Express mail option because i was never keen on paying that much for postage and just usually went with the standard option and to be honest the items have always arrived.
Anyway due to needing the item in a certain number of days i decided to pay the extra to make sure the item was delivered within the 3-5 days quoted by USPS or so i thought.

My item was posted on the 3rd July and this is the following updates via the USPS tracking link.

As you can see i have not had any updates since the 4th July and it's now passed the day i was quoted the parcel would arrive. I have since spoken to parcel force who stated they will be delivering the parcel when it arrives but their records show nothing arriving and also the whole dispatch which contains 25 parcels including mine hasn't arrived.

I just want to get some advice on whether this is the norm for express delivery, could the parcels be in the UK in some warehouse without parcel force knowing about them and how long should i give it before contacting USPS direct?

I don't know what the tracking is like in the UK for this service, but Parcelforces tracking shows:

Date Time Location Tracking Event
04-07-2013 13:55 Delivery Agent - SAN FRANCISCO Forwarded for export
04-07-2013 13:50 Delivery Agent - SAN FRANCISCO Forwarded for export
03-07-2013 14:35 Delivery Agent - UNITED STATES AMERICA Collected from customer

Perhaps it's stuck at customs? But if it's a tracked service, would have expected something to show it arriving in the UK.

Items from the states don't get tracked in the UK, they get treated as 1st class recorded. In any case if it's stuck in customs then you're probably looking at about a month, as that seems to be about the average time things take that get stuck in customs

Cheers for the replies,

It's just my bloody luck! When i look on the "parcel farce" site it just says advised - express 24 and been informed it hasn't made it in to the country yet. I have also been told not to worry because another 25 parcels haven't arrived but hey that doesn't fill me with confidence. I am just fuming the parcel i needed and paid extra for isn't here and nobody can tell me where it is!!!!

The system is a joke and basically paying for a guaranteed service means nowt!!!

Also my other worry is the parcel seems to have gone through the USA system on the 4th July, though i thought this was the biggest public holiday and nobody worked!

As your parcel seems to still be in USA I feel your "parcel farce" jibe seems rather unnecessary ,as they seem to have helped you all they can.
