Re: RM WANTS INDUSTRIAL ACTION
I don't think it will happen, but if it does the CWU will have to get legal advice on the process and how they would go about it. They would therefore have to brief us anyway. To be honest its not worth worrying about there are much bigger issues which are more likely to get us out in the gate than DSA on its own.Sixty wrote:Hi

TNT would not want this company especially as they are reducing there workforce by 4000 and are trying to get there profits up. They do not have that type of cash available and would be very hard to borrow and especially the share holders would not want this acquisition .

The only "postal" company with the kind of loose change kicking about to buy Royal Mail are UPS.cloherty1976 wrote:TNT would not want this company especially as they are reducing there workforce by 4000 and are trying to get there profits up. We know they have the cash because they were all set to buy TNT Express for more than £4 Billion before the EU threw a spanner in the works.
I know they would like to get their hands on GLS and maybe even ParcelForce but they are not interested in the whole business as a going concern so it's unlikely they would be interested straight away.
I wouldn't put it past them though to make an approach after any possible sell off for the two parcel delivery companies.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

I have a feeling if parcel force is sold separately that we will then change our sizing prices again to take back the work we have lost!
