Stuck in EIRE

Post by Newcomer »

Hi.

Newbie with a typical newbies question. A package was posted recorded delivery from the UK to Germany on the 31st May. The tracking number is RJ910799236GB. It indicates that the package is in Cork and being processed. The status has not changed since 7th June. I spoke with RM and they said it had been incorrectly sent to Cork and will be re-directed as part of an agreement.

My question are: How much longer will this take? and Does AN Post prioritise misplaced parcels? In the last week I have received 2x separate parcels within 5 days of being posted.

Any advice etc would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Have you tried the AnPost website to track the item? If it is in Ireland, albeit in error, then they should have a tracking for it.

AnPost Customer Services is +353-1-705 7600 - if it shows up on their system might be worth giving them a call.

In terms of how long, others may correct me but it would be hard to quantify. International Signed For is basically tracked airmail so does not have any guaranteed delivery times, although it's expected to be a little faster than regular airmail as it receives 'Priority Handling'.

Unfortunately, AnPost in my professional and personl experience is a little sluggish (Airsure item I sent earlier on in the year took 7 days to be scanned into Ireland from the UK). However it should make its way onwards in due course.

Good luck!

Contacted them today. After being put on hold they came back and said the parcel is there and after confirming the destination is Germany it would be forwarded to Deutsche Post. I was not overly convinced because no explanatin was given as to why it has been sat there for nearly a week. I will keep on checking their website.

Glad you could contact them. To be fair, it's probably not their fault as it would have been misloaded at Heathrow.

Not much help I know but guess all you can do at this time is be patient.
