"Dangerous Goods" returned in error

Post by harry84 »

Hi there

Hope everyone is well and looking forward to the Bank Holiday weekend :Very Happy

A bit connected and further to my earlier post http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... =6&t=52321, we have in the past week had about 7 parcels returned to us with some/all contents destroyed as Dangerous Goods. Having made ourselves very well versed on the new regs since they came in, we can swear categorically that the items that were sent (mascara, face moisturiser and foundation) do not appear on any of RM's Prohibited List. We can only assume an error/misjudgement during the security scanner process.

This is not only frustrating for our customers but also is money we are losing for apparently no good reason. Does anyone know if we have any recourse in obtaining refunds for the carriage costs as well as the cost of any items which we strongly believe have been destroyed in error?

Thanks as every for the help :thumbup

You can certainly try, and I would if you're sure they don't contravene the new regs in any way. Just contact customer services and see what they say. If they say no, moan some more :D

It is certainly possible to get your money back, but it is difficult. You need to prove everything in their wasn't dangerous goods, by supplying the Material Safety Data Sheet for them for CS to see. If that confirms they're safe, we will refund you.
