By LONG TERM I assume it will be an ongoing study over a long term and that health and social studies will be investigated by qualified medical staff.

Re: Long Term Fatigue Study of the Delivery Role
Don't know if this has any relevance but I wore a heart monitor once on my journey. On a shared town round with approx 1200 houses on an average day, In 4 hours 26 minutes I burned 942 calories. I was walking at my normal pace.
When I went to the gym regularly and did RPM classes (spinning on a static bike) for 45 minutes I would burn 450 - 500 calories each session and they were extremely hard work.
Therefore I'm doing the equivalent of two hard core spinning classes everyday .... No wonder I eat for England when I get home!

If you do a job too well, you’ll get stuck with it.

Re: Long Term Fatigue Study of the Delivery Role
Might be quite interesting, hopefully, (but unlikely to be long term enough!), it will highlight the fact that the RM uniform is far from adequate for such a physically demanding role; I'm thinking of the shocking shoes they provide us with........my feet weep at the thought of putting those things on again on Monday.
I wonder whether they will ever consider studying the health implications of long term bullying and harassment in the RM workplace?

That would require them giving a s**t about the staff.supernova wrote:Might be quite interesting, hopefully, (but unlikely to be long term enough!), it will highlight the fact that the RM uniform is far from adequate for such a physically demanding role; I'm thinking of the shocking shoes they provide us with........my feet weep at the thought of putting those things on again on Monday.

The results of this study will be largely ignored due to the inevitability of them not being what RM want to hear/know.
Any B&H study, though extremely unlikely to happen, would fall under the same problem. RM don't know, don't want to know and don't care. They just want to show willing, without ever promising to do anything about it.
Sometimes, I wish I wasn't a Rep.

Re: Long Term Fatigue Study of the Delivery Role
We've had this carried out at our office 6 months ago and the follow up recently so I don't think there will be a report too soon. The team consisted of 2 Managers, one trained in psychometrics and the other a paper pusher, the third was a full time CWU Health and Safety rep who'd been on full time release since 1998.They didn't check that the correct equipment was being used on site, consequently the resulting monitor readings won't be fully accurate because the stress factor won't be the same, nor the delivery span.Sugar wrote:No news, so as posted above its just a white wash?

Dunno yet the results not in - that's if we ever see it! Funny really you'd have thought it would have been done prior to revision as opposed to 3 years after it started.Sugar wrote:So everything is well in deliveries and we shouldn't be moaningdvbuk55 wrote:We've had this carried out at our office 6 months ago and the follow up recently so I don't think there will be a report too soon. Re: Long Term Fatigue Study of the Delivery Role
They'll be lucky, the Study covered 12 months I think and the final study, certainly in our office was in October I think. Pretty pointless really and I don't expect any worthwhile result because the base data was wrong to begin with. The correct equipment wasn't being used and so it was just a time on delivery factor.fishtank wrote:Anybody seen or heard of it?TAn interim report will be published after 6 months
A more worthwhile study would be to collate all the sickness over the last 3 years by complaint. I am certain that stress has increased in the last 3 years but I wouldn't imagine that would show on a heart monitor. Strains and sprains, RSI and ruptures would more than likely have increased - all that data must surely be nationally readily available.
