The item is now ready for delivery

Post by tony123456 »

It's a tracked item and I have been emailed the tracking number so can see that it is showing as being 'ready for delivery' at quarter to 7 this morning. I'm assuming this means it hasn't gone out today and so wont be delivered this morning but if this is the case can I then just go to the delivery office today and collect it? Seems an obvious solution and would save them having to get a signature tomorrow but am sure it can't be that simple, not with RM :)

This should mean it'll be delivered today.

Wezzo is correct that status is normally shown when it has been passed to the Postie who will actually deliver, and 99% of the time its delivered that day - hopefully you have it by now.

As to collecting it - sorry NO.

With literally thousands of items going through an average office on a daily basis it would be near impossible to identify its exact location in the office (we move around a lot :Very Happy ) so it is always better to wait till delivery has been attempted as all carded items are stored in a single location.

Thanks for the replies. As you both say it was delivered today and I know in future what that status means. In the past signed for items have normally shown as 'out for delivery' or something similar but all that matters is that I got it safely. Cheers again.
