'New' Royal Mail Signed For
Notice that Recorded Signed For has now been rebranded 'Signed For' 1st/2nd class, complete (if the images are to be believed) with new labels.
Are the old-style labels still acceptable or must I now use the new ones?

They'll probably allow them for a week or two, but I'd get the new ones. I have been told the rebranding isn't just due to changes in products & names, but for fraud prevention. Though quite how this makes a difference I do not know.harry84 wrote:Notice that Recorded Signed For has now been rebranded 'Signed For' 1st/2nd class, complete (if the images are to be believed) with new labels.

This is Royal Mail we are talking about.
The old ones will still be in use in 2 years time.
The old ones will still be in use in 2 years time.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

I sometimes see old recorded and special stickers that are probably 10+ years old most likely when a company is running low and goes through all their draws and cupboards looking for any they may haveclashcityrocker wrote:This is Royal Mail we are talking about.

Re: 'New' Royal Mail Signed For
UPDATE:
So I haven't managed to get hold of any new labels yet so, when sending a Signed For today, dutifully went to Post Office to have it labelled up there.
Except - they just used the old style labels anyway (same as I have myself!).

I've seen both of them coming through, I think it's just a matter of waiting for the old stock to be cleared.harry84 wrote:UPDATE:

Re: 'New' Royal Mail Signed For
I remember seeing on another link posted elsewhere on RMC (quoted from the RM internal site) regarding the new service that if the item was delivered without signature one could claim 50 quid? or maybe I am making this up

According to royalmail.com, it's still just the Signed For fee that gets refunded if the item is delivered but no signature is taken - see http://www.royalmail.com/personal/uk-de ... -1st-class:harry84 wrote:I remember seeing on another link posted elsewhere on RMC (quoted from the RM internal site) regarding the new service that if the item was delivered without signature one could claim 50 quid? or maybe I am making this up
5. What compensation cover is provided with Royal Mail Signed For?
Royal Mail Signed For™ items are covered against loss or damage up to the sum of £50 or the value of the item, whichever is lower. In the event of an item being delivered but where no signature is obtained, you can claim for a refund amounting to the difference between the 1st Class postage and the cost of Royal Mail Signed For™ 1st Class.

Re: 'New' Royal Mail Signed For
I got told that the old recorded stickers can be used for 6 months and then horizon won't allow them .... Also if the postie doesn't take a signature who is to say they received the item??? I'm sure they will deny it (scum bags) .. probably why are customers are paying over the odds with the new prices ...medium prices are horrendous
