The worst low level letterbox I found was one with the hinge at the bottom, so you had to almost scrape your knuckles on the doorstep to get the mail upwards and in.
Royal Mail
failing the workforce, failing the public and deliberately failing mail on a daily basis for too many years.

It won't be long before someone, through repeated bending down, injures themselves quite severely at work, and has to take quite a long time off sick. Only to be disciplined for it later, as it will be the posties fault for not doing something about it earlier.

Low letter boxes should be covered in your manual handling training.
You must remove the bag from your back before bending down.
Some postie did suffer a bad injury many years ago and RM did have to pay out a whack of compensation which is why everyone should receive the appropriate training.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

I do thanks. It does not exclude the possibility of being injured. Repetitive Strain Injury for one. Amongst many other possibilities.
