Re: Low letterboxes.....
The worst low level letterbox I found was one with the hinge at the bottom, so you had to almost scrape your knuckles on the doorstep to get the mail upwards and in.

Re: Low letterboxes.....
It won't be long before someone, through repeated bending down, injures themselves quite severely at work, and has to take quite a long time off sick. Only to be disciplined for it later, as it will be the posties fault for not doing something about it earlier.
Sometimes, I wish I wasn't a Rep.

Low letter boxes should be covered in your manual handling training.UnhappyGremlin wrote:It won't be long before someone, through repeated bending down, injures themselves quite severely at work, and has to take quite a long time off sick. You must remove the bag from your back before bending down.
Some postie did suffer a bad injury many years ago and RM did have to pay out a whack of compensation which is why everyone should receive the appropriate training.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: Low letterboxes.....
I do thanks. It does not exclude the possibility of being injured. Repetitive Strain Injury for one. Amongst many other possibilities.clashcityrocker wrote:Low letter boxes should be covered in your manual handling training.UnhappyGremlin wrote:It won't be long before someone, through repeated bending down, injures themselves quite severely at work, and has to take quite a long time off sick.
