Hello ,
I sell items on eBay and when I get my tracking number receipts I usually add tracking numbers on straight as I get home , however I have lost the receipt ( the proof of posting ) which had the tracking number on but I have the tracking number logged onto eBay + PayPal , so I can check the status of it.
Where do I stand , the item was sent 2nd class recorded on the 26th March and hasn't arrived yet. I have looked everywhere for it.
The item is worth £40 , can I claim if it doesn't arrive in the next 10 days as the buyer will be wanting his money back , which I will refund.

Don't think so. Not without a receipt. You can try and ask, but I am pretty sure they will refuse. Could you possibly get a duplicate copy of the receipt? Did you get Proof of Posting Certificate? (A Tracking Number isn't proof of posting).
You could also provide printouts of any other related info such as eBay/Paypal. But, as with most companies, I think it's unlikely without a receipt.
