Hi,
I have been waiting for a small item (about A4 sized) from an ebay seller. Its well past its due date so I asked them if there was a problem. They claimed that the postmaster had to deal with a sudden family death, and so as my item had already gone there, it was now stuck in the post office. Does this sound likely? This just seems totally spurious to me, there must be some backup for this type of situation.(if indeed even true) Can anyone say what is supposed to happen in if this was true?
Thanks

Re: ebay seller reason for delay True?
it is plausible but extremely unlikely, in some smaller post offices where they have a good relationship with ebay sellers, the seller will sometimes drop off a back of packets for the postmaster to put through the system during the day rather than clog up the queue with one person, and then ebay seller pays him later, in that scenario it may be possible if ebay dropped of bag of packets and then postmaster closed early the packet may still be stuck in the post office and not have been sent, there is no back up for this situation as its an informal arrangement between the ebay seller and the postmaster, so its up to the ebay seller to resolve the situation for youFlashman_ wrote:Hi,

Simple answer, ask ebayer for the name of the branch and ring them up. If he's less than forthcoming you'll know he's talking shite.
