The Protection from Harassment Act 1997 (c 40) is an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom which, among other things, criminalises and creates a right to protection from stalking and persistent bullying in the workplace.

Employers have vicarious liability for harassment by their employees under section 3 of the Protection from Harassment Act 1997

I'm no expert in law and I don't know how hard it would be to apply the above Act in the workplace for protection from bullying.
It is very hard mate as that act is mainly an anti stalking one that can be used in an employment situation but you'd have to have an exceptional case to prove it. :whistle
I think I can count on one hand the number of successful claims using this form of action for bullying in the workplace but a good case with Royal Mail was Graham V Royal Mail in which one of the judges came out with this little line "Harassment[in the workplace]is a live issue, not a dead letter :left: that's as near a bollocking as your going to get off a tribunal. :Very Happy
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09

Rather pathetic article in the Voice.
Backtracking and climb downs galore.
I swear i heard the sound of bottles crashing all the way up here.
A statement Bob,hopefully jointly with the employer and a little insert to keep at your frame and wave at management...is that it?
Sad and embarrassing really.
What happened to this union? :cuppa

Are we not the union anymore? - well of course not and we never have been, it's just a platitude trotted out when the s**t hits the fan. The members are merely the cash cow that enables those full time union officials a high standard of living without any likelihood of them being displaced or made redundant.

It will probably have the Bullying Helpline number on it. What a waste of space that is. Nowhere near good enough Bob. The perpetrators getting off scot free, no acknowledgement by RM that RM has institutionalised bullying and harassment problem No guarantees that this will stop with immediate effect. No actions to iron out the route causes. In other words as Fish and DVB have said, furthering pandering to RM in order to appear to be doing something for the large salary that he earns from the contributions paid by the membership.

It might be advisable to go in disguise, General, in order to avoid identification from this site. Perhaps as a bog brush salesman?  . No, on second thoughts you'll have to think of something else, there'll be one of those there anyway.

I have only just seen Bob Gibson's article today and that is one of the worst pieces of s**t I have ever read.
If your union can't be arsed why should i continue to fund these muppets?
Oh please don't try and intimidate me oh Mr Manager otherwise I will flash my bullying insert out of The Voice at ya!
Oh yes I forgot i pay my subs in case i might some day get sacked and they `might represent me but then again i will probably have to do it myself anyway, so again what is the point?
This union is a dead horse or as the General likes to make out a f***ing pantomime union. :silenced

Ten days then this thread has been running now
Any update ?
Is anything being seriously done
Has anyone noticed any change
I personally dont think cwu at any level, have a clue how bad
It actually is or maybe they would act a bit faster.
Time to act before it's too late
I've watched offices stand together ,but they are gradually being
Defeated,back to the old ways,working breaks,starting early,carrying
Over weight bags.
All to get these bully boys off their backs,as they guy next to them done the same
Come on cwu ! You promoted this deal, now make them abide by it
