Proof of posting for business collection

Post by frank_od »

I have an online and eBay shop and have been using franking machine for several years already, had been taking all the parcels to local post office everyday until yesterday, when I started using Royal Mail business collection, as I am qualified to get the service for free. I used to fill the certificate of posting myself and the staff at the local post office stamp on it, I've got at least 2 parcels gone missing each month especially the international ones, but the driver who came yesterday to collect the parcels said he never done this before, he only signs for the signed-for and special deliveries, just wondering if there is any way I can get proof of posting for the normal mails especially the international airmails, I know Royal Mail only cover £50 and I do used signed-for and special delivery service for valuable ones, but added-up value of those missing cheap and light parcels for the whole year would be at least a few hundreds pounds. Please anyone can help ? Thanks

As a rule the driver is right,unless things have changed since I last done collections,have you had a look here...
http://www.royalmail.com/business-services" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Also,rightly or wrongly,if there is no proof or posting available and stuff is going missing,then I would guess you would have to go back to using a PO to cover your back.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
