Our is good and does his best but its not easy when people dont back him up.
For those leaving comments like "useless" and " doms best mate" should perhaps have a go themselves. Its a thankless job and not easy.

It would also be interesting for them to explain how the rep does his job without having an ongoing dialogue with the manager.krussel wrote:

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: whats your office rep like ?
Our rep is a ............total throbber. Just a puppet for the area rep who seems to get fatter everytime he slithers/wobbles into the DO.
I wouldnt matter if we had a good rep anyway as half the office come in early, most work through/dont take their break, and quite a few spend half their day sucking up to the managers. and dont get me started on the managers "golden boys" who are too busy to take their absorbtion but always get back to the DO before their time.

That is the problem in a nutshell.tigercat wrote:I wouldnt matter if we had a good rep anyway as half the office come in early, most work through/dont take their break
What chance does he have when the Dom knows that people wont back him.

Re: whats your office rep like ?
You can never win as a rep.
Too many people come in early and run around then cry when they are told to do more.
If people did the job by the book we would have rm by the balls.
To answer the question I'm a c*** apparently
But 99% of people wouldn't try the job and if it came to a walkout or strike there would be me and a handful on the gate
Try my best though but that's not always enough.
Tough balancing act IMHO

Re: whats your office rep like ?
It's one of those chicken/egg scenarios though krussel.krussel wrote:What chance does he have when the Dom knows that people wont back him.
Which came first, the lousy rep or the lousy office?
To be honest though IF the rep is crap he has no place being the rep and what's left of a decent office should get rid of him....otherwise they would be as well cancelling their subs....and that's the end state in offices like this...no members.
When HQ is perceived to be useless and let's face it rightly or wrongly that is the general perception the only thing holding representation up at local level is the local rep.
It's a big responsibility,if you're not up to it or don't want that responsibility you need to have a look in the mirror.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Re: whats your office rep like ?
Our rep does a good job. In all honesty he is fighting a losing battle, as apart from a few of us, it is a WEAK office, which he could never change. People have a perception that he is too friendly with the DOM, but as mentioned, if you have to have a dialogue with the manager anyway, it is tough to carry that out if you don't speak to him!
Should never have a joint office with the DOM though. That is the one critical mistake he has made. Apart from that, he has always helped me out, so fair play.
