hi newbie customer here, can anyone advise possible reason for a failure to confirm delivery or attempted delivery by rm special delivery : next day on the track n trace website. (gave up with the awful automated telephone t n t at 25th attempt to enter my valid barcode reference number).
basically i posted on monday afternoon and website as of now (wed eve) is still stating its in van out for delivery from 7.30 am tuesday. i tried calling customer service and was advised that no explanation as to why delivery attempt/confirmation was not online and that he would check with portsmouth office and call me back in ten mins regardless. the callback did not occur.
does anyone know possibly why a sd parcel would be left in a van for a few days or why no updates to track n trace are available. i realise its only a few days but am starting to panic as its important that i can confirm delivery/attempted delivery.

Re: sd track n trace stuck?
Was it a large company/organisation that is likely to get loads of these - if so it sometimes takes a few days for the system to update especially if the Postie had to use the paper method of getting a signature - the PDAs as they get older seem prone to failure.
It might be worth contacting the company direct to see if they can confirm receipt.

hi, yes i called rm customer service today and they confirmed that it was delivered however their pda isnt working properly hence the continued delay in updating t n t webpage. they estimate it will be updated within 72hrs.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Was it a large company/organisation that is likely to get loads of these - if so it sometimes takes a few days for the system to update especially if the Postie had to use the paper method of getting a signature - the PDAs as they get older seem prone to failure.

the problem is that the ebay business seller is based in ne england. the parcel was returned to their rented warehouse in portsmouth and because its a biggish multi business unit there is an internal delay in confirmation hence the need for me to return it tracked. to be perfectly honest i am not in the least bit interested in fee refunds for delay but i am concerned at the delay in getting the track website updated. is it possible to manually update a track web page when the pda isnt working right?
any reassurance would be appreciated.
just for clarification it is not the original ebay seller who requested the items return. it was ebay customer service who decided that this should occur following a dispute.

Re: sd track n trace stuck?
Yes - only some posties have the PDAs (usually those who have vans so they can be recharged) as there are at present only 30,000 PDAs but 75,000 delivery personnel. All the other deliveries requiring signature are done on card and then scanned in by other staff when the card is handed in - usually next working day for the postie. Depending on their schedule this can take 72 hours hence the time they say before it appears.

Re: sd track n trace stuck?
The paper PODs are sent off to the mail centre every evening. Where they go from there I'm not sure, but they state 72 hours to update with a manual signature. If RM customer services say it's been delivered, then it's been delivered and no fee refund would be able to be claimed as it's been delivered... I'm afraid it's just one of those technical issues that you'll have to be patient with and wait to update itself.

Re: sd track n trace stuck?
thankfully the parcel has been confirmed as delivered though am confused about when it was delivered. rm t n t link on these pages say it was delivered at some time on 29th jan (next day), however the postoffice uk t n t page is showing it as delivered today (5th feb) lol
anyway am thankful that delivery is now confirmed.
thanks all here for your advice.
