Returned packet do not arrives.

Post by marinemaster »

Hello. I am new here. First sorry for my english I am not english and it is quite poor.
I have a problem with a returned packet. I purchased it the dec 5th but the article had a problem. I talked with the seller and he said me that when the packet arrives , I refuse it and I would not have to pay the return costs. I do this and the packet was returned to UK the Dec 21st.
The problem is that in the tracking of royal mail the packet appears like "Your item, posted on 05/12/12 with reference RQXXXXXXXXXGB was delivered in COVENTRY SOUTH PDO on 17/01/13.
Coventry south PDO is a local delivery office isn't it? But ¿Why the packet is there since Jan 17th? I think that it should still arrived. What can I do?
Thank you. Regards.

Its been delivered/returned to the sender. The "Coventry South PDO" is just an indication of the office that delivered it - not where it was delivered to.

You can check, in most cases, the signature and name of the person who signed for it, look for the electronic proof of delivery on the same web page.

The tracking info shows that the item was delivered, NOT refused. So the person doing the delivering didn't select the correct option on the PDA. If it was delivered (and a signature required) you should be able to view the signature. If there's a signature, then it'll be classed as delivered and won't be going anywhere else.

However, unless it's a special delivery item (unlikely given the tracking info) it probably won't be tracked during the return. It's only tracked on the way there.

So, in short, it should've been scanned as 'not delivered, refused' and then scanned back into the delivery office as return to sender. After that, there probably wouldn't be any tracking information on it anyway.

Has the sender tried to track it on their country's postal service tracking website? It might've been scanned by them as being back in the home country.

Unfortunately, at the moment, the tracking information from Royal Mail makes it look like you accepted the item.

Hello. Yes I suspected it... The seller says that coventry south is a postal office and he do not has the packet.
I am the recipient from Spain. The sender is in UK. I cannot have the packet because I am from Spain, and the packet was delivered in UK. The tracking shows it. In addition the tracking in Spanish mail (Correos) shows that the item was "in process of return" when I refused it.
I cant not ask for the signature because I do not have the personal information of the sender.
In this case I understand that there are two options:
A) Someone different to the seller took te packet.
B) The seller it is not telling me the truth.
I am going to ask to the seller. Thank you very much for your help.

The seller needs to put in a claim with Royal Mail if they claim they didn't receive it back. The tracking info shows that they did, but if it was undelivered for whatever reason, it may still be at the delivery office. Either way, the seller needs to get a P58 form from the Post Office and see if Royal Mail will investigate. In the meantime, they need to refund/replace whatever it was for you as you've held up your end of the bargain!

I said them to put a claim with Royal Mail but they only says that they do not want to do it. They only say that they not have the packet and cannot refund my money. I think simply that the seller is not saying the truth.
It is an ebay purchase, I will put a Claim by Paypal. I am sick of the customer service of this store. I think that they are trying to cheat me since the beginning.
Thank you for your help. Best wishes.
