Parcel stuck at Heathrow Langley WDC
hi,
I don't have that much experience with royal mail but this seems a bit strange. I have sent a package from the UK to Belgium and it seems it got stuck at the airport
Your item, posted on 22/01/13 with reference XXXXXXXXXX has been received at our international mail centre and is being made ready for despatch overseas.
That tells me that it somewhere at heathrow
But then from the details
I see that the latest is this
Date Time Status Track point
22/01/13 21:11 DESPATCHABLE TOHEATHROW WORLDWIDE DC PRESTON MAIL CENTRE
So is it at Preston on its way to the airport for 6 days (??) or is it still sitting at the airport for 6 days ?
I am a bit confused

Airsure ior International Signed For? Heathrow Worldwide Distribution Centre (HWDC) handles all mail heading out of the UK from RM's network (surface and airmail).

Re: Mail stuck at Heathrow
It might be stuck at Belgian customs, it might not get scanned over there until customs release it over to Belgian's equivalent of RM

Re: Mail stuck at Heathrow
Thanks for the answer much appreciated !
Is it normal to go through customs since it goes from UK to Belgium (so it stays within EU) ?
Hope you are right and the tracking system is wrong :)

Re: Mail stuck at Heathrow
Hi,
I see I'm having a similar problem, my Parcel (Either International Signed For or AirSure) was collected at 22nd Jan and it's been sitting in Preston Mail Center for the 6th WORKING day.
My tracking details: RJ635922050GB
22/01/13 20:38 DESPATCHABLE TOHWDC SIGNED FOR ROAD 3 PRESTON MAIL CENTRE
22/01/13 18:32 COLLECTED PRESTON MAIL CENTRE
This is a jacket I ordered in UK to be shipped to Malaysia, and I need them before 8th of February.
My last parcel from Royal Mail Airmail at last mid year was delivered quick, about a week time. But this time I'm disappointed with their service..
If it has arrived at Heathrow Distribution Center, shouldn't it update on the tracking systems?
Anyone knows what's going on in Preston Mail Center?

Re: Mail stuck at Heathrow
Your item was despatched to Heathrow on the 22/01/13 so its definitely not sitting in Preston MC......it probably missed a scan at Heathrow for one reason or another. I'm sure it will be with you soon if not you will have to ask the seller to contact Customer Services.CJGun wrote:Hi,

So it was stuck at heathrow for all this time.

Re: Mail stuck at Heathrow
Hi guys, I appreciate all your responds.
Seems like my parcel is in the same situation as chrgeo's.
They finally updated the tracking
:
29/01/13 PM DESPATCHED TOKUALA LUMPUR MALAYSIA MALAYSIA
22/01/13 20:38 DESPATCHABLE TOHWDC SIGNED FOR ROAD 3 PRESTON MAIL CENTRE
22/01/13 18:32 COLLECTED PRESTON MAIL CENTRE
Stormproof is right, they must have missed a scan at Heathrow.
My local forumers shows their tracking is always updated with "RECEIVED ATHEATHROW WORLDWIDE DC HEATHROW WORLDWIDE DC" before dispatching overseas..
Phew..
hope everyone receives their parcel soon

Re: LANGLEY HWDC ???
so I'm not alone in this Langley HWDC mess..
I have a parcel lost (it was received at Langley on 2.1.2013. so I consider it lost) and two more following the same principle (these were received at langley on 23.1.2013.).
it was shipped from Croatia, Zagreb.
did you guys change anything in RM in 2013.?
I've sent dozens of parcels to UK in 2011. and 2012. and never encountered such problems (except the usual tracking log silence after the parcel enters the UK).
it is somewhat disturbing that stuff gets delivered to south/north America faster than to UK, and we're on the same continent..
regards,
Mile

Re: LANGLEY HWDC ???
OK, you do realise that this forum isn't anything to do with Royal Mail apart from it's populated by people who work in various parts of the group? So asking if "you guys" changed anything is a bit pointless. We'll help you where we can, but we can't comment on the workings of the Royal Mail as we're not responsible for them. You'll need to contact Moya Greene if you want to have a whinge about that!Barbudo wrote:so I'm not alone in this Langley HWDC mess..

Re: LANGLEY HWDC ???
ok, TeeferTiger, point taken, but the question still stands - does anybody know if anything changed in RM policies concerning the admittance/delivery of foreign parcels in 2013.?

Re: LANGLEY HWDC ???
Hello, I have a question too re my parcel which is stuck at Langley. I hope this is the right place to ask.
Today I received one of those grey coloured cards saying I had to pay a customs charge of £253
before my item could be released for delivery . Now , the thing is I spoke to HMRC and they said that Langley had possibly misread the declaration label . My item ( an eyelash curler of all things - cost £14) was declared as a value of 2000 yen.. but someone has calculated the customs charge on the value of 2000 us-dollars. It's plastic - not gold
How can i sort this out ? Is there someone I can contact at Langley?
HMRC say in their experience I will have to wait for the item to be returned to sender and then get the sender to send it again with another declaration label clearly stating the value. any suggestions welcome though.

No a quick check of the customers section would indicate that even RMC is in the dark about what's going on in HWDC. Perhaps a question to your MP might elicit a response from official quarters.
