PARCEL FROM ITALY ARRIVED AT WDC 21/12/02 and NOT DELIVERED

Hi All,

I'm desperately trying to track a parcel sent by Recorded Post from Naples Italy on 17/12/12. This parcel arrived in Milan on 21/12/12 and nobody knows where it is!!! I have called Customer Services on numerous occasions. The tracking systems still states as of a few minutes ago that the parcel is at Heathrow. I spoke to customer services and was informed that the parcel WAS in fact scanned in but until it's actually delivered to us there is NO WAY TO TRACK IT!! How on earth can that be??? I've been over to my local sorting office. I've been to our Main Mail Centre this morning and still have had NO joy whatseover!!! NOBODY! I repeat NOBODY!!! knows what's happened to our parcel. OUTRAGEOUS! If anybody out there can advise of what steps I need to take to locate the parcel I would REALLY appreciate it.

Have been unable to talk to a human at the WDC!!!

It's probably stuck in customs, until customs release it there's probably nothing that RM can do

Italy is a no no when it comes to posting items there or buying from there. Even ebay advise against it. If the postal system is as efficient as the traffic systems and the drivers then there's no hope of finding anything!

Thought I'd receive some positive input. Disappointed with the ludicrous remarks about horses head. IT HAS BEEN TRACKED TO WORLDWIDE DISTRIBUTION CENTRE. Parcel left Italy! We didn't purchase anything from Italy from Ebay etc. Only ONE decent person mentioned Customs issues. Thanks for that.I'd thought of that possibility but nothing of value in pack some baby clothes for our newborn granddaughter from cousins!!! The point is WHY does this stupid tracking system not allow us mortal humans to SPEAK to somebody who actually KNOWS what's going on???? Went to our local Main Mail Centre who could'nt answer that! The mind boggles. 2013???? We were all better off when we were WORSE off!

you were asked for the tracking number so maybe someone on here could look into it for you but instead got into a typical passionate Italian rant.
you are not the customer - the person who posted it in Italy is!!!!

Horses head is more amusing now that we heard on the news the horseburgers being sold!
Wasn't a rant. Am annoyed can't trace this parcel. The tracking number is RA570540880IT. So if anybody out there could help. It would be greatly appreciated NEIGH!!

I understand your annoyance, but with it being a packet it'll have to undergo customs processes once it arrives i the UK. About the lack of tracking, these 'registered', 'recorded' etc services are only scanned on arrival in UK (if you're lucky!) and on delivery. Only has the one scan at the moment, so it's somewhere in a pile I guess..

All I can say is wait. I don't imagine there's any way you can find out. If there are any customs issues or Import VAT is required, the recipient will get a letter or the postie will let them know.

In future, if the contents aren't of value I'd say just send by standard untracked airmail. Tracked/priority items I imagine would attract more attention to themselves.

Well, have contacted our niece who will be investigating at her end. Managed to speak to a Customer Service person who too said parcel was scanned in and as you say there's no way of knowing where it is unless been returned to sender. She also said there is a "universal agreement" that a non delivery investigation has to be carried out from the sender's end.
