Online Postage Post-by date

Hi, I printed postage online at Royal Mail, the postage stamp had a post-by date on of 31.12.12, however, for the last 2 days our local post box has said the next collection day is Tuesday, which is New Years Day. I traveled to another box in another area of the City and that box had a collection date of Tuesday too. I posted the parcel but I was wondering if the stamp will be invalid once it gets into the Royal Mail system.

Also as the next collection is supposed to be Tuesday, New Years Day, I wasn't sure if Royal Mail would be collecting which could cause further delays...

Any advice on what will happen to my packages?

It will still go through okay. Collections have taken place and will take place from Thursday to Saturday and last one this year will be Monday.

There will be no collections Tuesday as you point out its New Years Day. I think someone just put in the wrong day on the boxes. Probably did it to all their collection boxes. :crazy:

EDIT: Or rather they haven't changed them from Monday - that makes more sense.

or probably changed them to tuesday instead of thursday whilst doing mondays collection
