I was expecting a parcel today that was posted on Monday 24th by Special Delivery. I was only expecting it today as the tracking info said that Royal Mail have my parcel and expect to deliver it before the guaranteed time on 27/12/12. This has been the case since Monday evening.
Today I waited in expecting the parcel but shortly after the 1pm deadline the tracking info changed to:
'Your item is currently progressing through our network for delivery'
This forum showed me a different tracking page which shows more detail as follows:
27/12/12 16:31 DESPATCHABLE TOSHEFFIELD MAIL CENTRE CHESTER MAIL CENTRE
27/12/12 14:25 RECEIVEDOUT OF COURSE CHESTER MAIL CENTRE
24/12/12 16:05 DESPATCHABLE TOSHEFFIELD MAIL CENTRE EXETER MAIL CENTRE
24/12/12 15:08 COLLECTED EXETER MAIL CENTRE
24/12/12 10:26 ACCEPTED AT POL 7 - 13 Union Str TQ1 1ES
Can anyone tell me what the above means - specifically the 'RECEIVEDOUT OF COURSE' action from today?
Can I expect this parcel to be delivered tomorrow?
Thanks.

Looks like it was missorted to Chester Mail Centre where it should of been put in a bag to Sheffield. At 16.31 it was despatched from chester to sheffield.

Ok thanks, could it be that Chester was a mid point in the journey though?
Looking at the tracking info is it likely to arrive tomorrow or should I be concerned?

No, 'out of course' means it has been sent to the wrong MC. You should get it tomorrow though :)

Inform the sender they can claim the postage back for the delays! Better in your pocket
