Bristol - Fishponds Delivery Office

Post by catorama »

I've recently moved to the area and have received a "Sorry you're not in card". I've been ringing the number at the back of the card to rearrange a redelivery but I cannot get through anyone - after selecting the relevant options ("press 4 to arrange a redelivery") the phone rings and rings… I have now called a dozen times and every time it costs me 40p-50p and I'm still unable to talk to anyone...can anyone offer some advice??
Thank you in advance

Arrange it on line - The Delivery side of the Office will in all likelihood be closed except for a limited amount of staff doing collections and manning the callers office.

I've used the online redelivery system once and the postman didn't turn up - I had then to go to my sorting office just to be told by the staff that the online system was "rubbish" and "it never works".

Out of curiosity, why they don't switch the 0845 number off if nobody can actually answer the phone? It's a complete rip off. :evil/mad

The online system has always worked for me. In my experience there is a recording on the phone saying that the line is only answered in the opening times shown on the card.

Unfortunately that's not my experience. The phone just rings and rings despite callining during opening times shown on the card. It's simply disgusting.

I don't think the people in the DO have the option of turning the phones off/on, I doubt the person employed in the RLE would know how to do it anyway!

From experience of working in the RLE, I can tell you it's not easy to answer a phone that's constantly ringing when there's only you in there and a queue of people out the door  If there's another option to press that perhaps gets you through to a manager, I'd suggest trying that instead. I don't have much experience with the 0845 number for offices as ours didn't have one!
Does this rag smell of chloroform to you?
