Our service (NG22) has suddenly taken a massive turn for the worse. Instead of morning deliveries, things now turn up at 3:00 - 4:00 in the afternoon – when they turn up at all. For instance, I have a large number of packages making their way here and none of them have arrived so far. There was no delivery today. The local post office staff say that the number of delivery staff has been halved, so I can't imagine that we'll ever have a decent service again :(
Can anyone suggest who I might complain to? Would it do any good? And where was the postal workers union when all this was going on?

I think your postcode has been modernised- which in effect means instead of one postie doing a round taking 3.5 hours - now 2 do a round that with both together can take 6 hours.JATait wrote:Our service (NG22) has suddenly taken a massive turn for the worse. With privatisation looming I would think that the Nadir of service has not yet been reached - profit is now king.
You would first need to complain to Customer Services to start the system but RM helpfully provide a page that shows the process you have to follow to go outside their system all the way through to a Postal Review Panel.JATait wrote:Can anyone suggest who I might complain to? Would it do any good?

See, when the posties went on strike to protest all this a few years back, all that was heard was "they should be grateful they've got a job" or "this is really affecting me". And now people are moaning about all the problems that we went on strike to prevent in the first place.
Does this rag smell of chloroform to you?

For what it's worth, I supported the strike back then. But I hadn't realized this was all part of the same thing.TeeferTiger wrote:See, when the posties went on strike to protest all this a few years back, all that was heard was "they should be grateful they've got a job" or "this is really affecting me". Thanks for that anyway.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:You would first need to complain to Customer Services to start the system but RM helpfully provide a page that shows the process you have to follow to go outside their system all the way through to a Postal Review Panel.

You might also want to get involved in Ofcom's rather secret "public consultation" on the reasonable needs of users in relation to the market for the provision of postal services.
