Entered incorrect postcode on international order

Post by YMAC »

Hi there
Can I get some advice please - I ordered something online from abroad (Hong Kong) and the auto thing on my laptop entered the wrong post code for me in the post code section and I was forgetful to check. I only realised that it was wrong when I got the confirmation email and it was already too late to contact the sender.

Do you think I will eventually get the shipment or will it just go back to sender or get lost?

Advise please!

A forgetful new mum!

Which part of the post code is wrong, and is the rest of the address correct.

If the first part is wrong then it may slow it down considerably depending on how wrong it is. If drastically wrong it may get returned to sender, especially if the Town/City is not on the address.

If its the last part then although it may delay it, if the address is correct, and not a common one (ie only street with that name and there are no avenues, ways, rises etc) then the chances are very high that you will get it.

It'll probably get sorted by postcode initially to the DO covering that p/c. If there's no such address, then hopefully someone will cross out the p/c and write "try xxxx town" or whatever else is on the envelope. It will hopefully then be returned to the mail centre and forwarded to the correct DO and hopefully still arrive...
Does this rag smell of chloroform to you?

Thank you for the reply - the entire post code is wrong! However, the first part, is all correct - so the building number, road and City (London). There is only one road in the UK with this name and def only one road in London with this name, well according to Google Maps so I hope someone does cross it out!

I've made a similar mistake. Is there any updates on this problem.
