According to our office rep, "if the changes are being made because of legislation (which is what RM are using as an excuse) then they only have to give you 28 days notice, regardless of whether you agree or not".

So who's right?

This is something that keeps annoying me, so called reliable sources giving conflicting information. Why can't the union make a public announcement to all it's members as to the proper procedure to fight these changes?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

HQ are on the site so i'm guessing they know the general feeling on a lot of stuff.
I've contacted one of them who usually answers pretty quick on stuff so hopefully on Wed afternoon i'll have something.
But i'm guessing as it's Exec action we've got no choice, but there is the legal side of things that seem wrong about it all.

Having looked on ACAS Direct Gov and DBRR websites i think the the law of the land could be clearer. I would say though that the info on those sites seems to point that they can make us start later.
