Do you know if we should expect an updated national position or will it be more of the same policy of "keep it regional, hope it resolves itself" from HQ?
It would be nice if we were showing our employer that an injury to one etc....
I would imagine it's a little too late for any national agenda. I think we all knew that with the "winners and losers" scenario quoted in 2010 there wasn't any chance that we would have a cohesive national programme for making RM adhere to the agreement. The further we go with revisions the more fragmented the union influence becomes and all we get are joint statements which simply confirms who is firmly in the driving seat.

The union handling of the agreement has been absolutely ridiculous, there has been next to no policing of the application of the agreement and years later are still discussing the "niceties" whilst accepting any and all things RM deign to say.

Having watched the "Current Situation" video from Dave...
http://www.cwu.org/postal.html#ooid=Zza ... bmuen13_mo

It would seem that forward is the only direction he will accept, any issues seem to be brushed off and "modernisation" must be achieved at all costs...even to members, privatisation and end to end competition are the demons, issues on delivery are merely a side show.
I get the feeling that his position is becoming more and more isolated but who dares question the king?
Or even challenge for the throne?...no-one.
Just an opinion.

Someone once told me that a blinkered horse had an inherent weakness. The union is like a runaway steamroller careering downhill.

My governor has this strange idea we were Phase 2 going on 4 so i said to the little pet as they had not shown me how they got this far i found it hard to see where the idea came from,i asked the pet to reassess i did not feel we had got from Phase 0 and now we are out of revision as they can't stay to the straight and narrow

To all CWU members SEDO

Dear Colleagues

THE USE OF UNAGREED PROCEDURES AT SEDO

We are writing to you following a meeting with Royal mail that was held earlier today.

This had been arranged as management at your unit are using un-agreed procedures to initiate conduct proceedings. Additionally they have signalled their intention to move people from their duties as and when they see fit.

Eight fact finding notices have been issued today to people that these managers wish to discipline. Two people have also been taken off their deliveries and threats to do this have also been issued to others.

• We have asked Royal Mail what agreement they are using to do this and they cannot answer.

• We have asked Royal Mail what procedure they are using and they have stated the Conduct code.

There is only one agreed prep test and that is for a minute and covered by strict guidelines. This states that conduct cannot be used.

Royal Mail will not admit that it is their planning that has led to the revision at SEDO being a total failure and instead are intent on blaming you.

We have notified CWUHQ about this breach of national agreements. We have also asked Royal Mail to withdraw the fact finding conduct notices and reinstate those who have been moved to other duties. They have refused.

If this is left unchecked Royal Mail will be able to discipline who they wish and introduce further fictitious and unachievable standards.

We will be holding a gate meeting before duty on Tuesday 30 October 2012 to discuss our next steps and seek your views.

Yours sincerely

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

I think the Union have to give the Management time to back down, which obviously they won't!
I'd imagine it's a tinderbox ready to explode, look what happened at preston.
Seem's the way that RM want to negotiate now.

It means the management have over stepped the mark again, they are probably stepping of the national agreements, they tend to do that!i sometimes wonder why we even bother  why have agreements,RM run the line we are all working together  you know full well they are not being honest  can't stand dishonest and this is what Royal Mail have become dishonest, every time something don't suit they throw their toys out of the pram :arrrghhh

To all CWU members SEDO

Dear Colleagues

THE USE OF UNAGREED PROCEDURES AT SEDO

We are writing to you as Royal Mail are still refusing to abide by national agreements around both sorting and prep tests.

You have all proved over the past year that the delivery methods revision at SEDO has failed and is unachievable.

As a result of this Royal Mail agreed to go back to square one and start planning a new revision.

Since that time however we have received a large number of complaints from SEDO regarding alleged intimidation from managers. It is obvious that management cannot accept that the targets they have set are unrealistic and instead are intent on blaming you for the failure of the revision.

We have asked the business to withdraw the threat of conduct around prep rates as this is not an agreed process, but they have refused.

We have asked the business to name the agreed procedure they are following but they have refused.

Clearly it is their intention to place more unreasonable pressure on you all in order to drive through further short-term savings ahead of the new revision.

It also appears that nobody is exempt from this and they will target whoever they wish in order to achieve their aims.

As a result we will be holding a gate meeting outside SEDO at 0630 on Tuesday 30 October 2012 for all full-time members, in order to agree a mandate about how we are going to get this to stop.

For those of you that are part-time a further meeting will be held at 0830.

We realise that these times are before the scheduled start times for duty. We have had to do this as Royal Mail are not allowing access. This is because they do not want you to know what is at stake and what their real agenda is.

Please do your best to attend these very important meetings.

Yours sincerely
