Help with GLS. (Portugal)
Hi everyone! i'm from Portugal and i'm waiting for a package from UK, i've been waiting over a week now, and i was wondering what went wrong cause i never had to wait this long for a package to arrive, then i found this forum googling for help and was caught by surprise when i saw that all tracked mail is distributed by GLS, i phoned GLS to try to find out what it's happening cause when i search their tracking system it doesn't show up, and they told me that it's not normal the amount of days that it's taking to appear in there system. In the royal mail tracking system the last scan was "18/09/12 PM DESPATCHED TOGLS PORTUGAL PORTUGAL", they are saying that maybe Royal Mail changed the tracking number, i found this hard to believe cause if someone change the tracking number must be them, right? Down anyone have an email address that i can use to query about this?
Regards.
Regards.

Re: Help with GLS. (Portugal)
Who are you wanting to email-RM or GLS?
You can send enquiries through to RM on Twitter which usually gets a prompt response. However, it appears that long delays are the norm

Re: Help with GLS. (Portugal)
RM, cause GLS told me that RM must have changed the tracking number, i don't buy it, so what i want is an official reply so i can phone GLS saying that RM didn't change the number and the package is their problem now, not RM's!
What upsets me the most, is that there's no delay using RM -> CTT, i had something in the mail at day 20/09 and received it yesterday!!!!! and i payed 3£, for RM -> GLS i payed 10£ (tracked) and more than a week later no package and no info where it is!
I guess we are back at the stone age!
Thanks.

Asking if he can read is a little over sensitive. Especially as he answered all your questions.pedro_igreja wrote:and do you know how to read!?
As Avenger suggested try twitter - @RoyalMail It is an official account.pedro_igreja wrote:I've only ask if someone had an email account, and one opinion, nothing more!
Or their contact form at http://www.royalmail.com/report-a-problem" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
You did but you read too much into what Avenger Postedpedro_igreja wrote:I'm from Portugal, my english isn't perfect, but i think i made myself clear.
Avenger - in fact we post this message "We have no affiliation with either Royal Mail or the Communications Workers Union (CWU), except that most of our members work for Royal Mail and/or are members of the CWU." on every page - even the one I am typing on at the moment.

I really don't know what's your problem, 1rst post i asked a question, 2nd post replied to question and let some steam out!!!
Where did i ever address this forum as it was RM's official forum, and just to let you know, i think the people at RM's do a fantastic job, it's almost a decade now that i received my 1rst mail from UK, ever since those days i had hundred's of packages delivered to me and every single one of them delivered on time, now the 1rst one with GLS is delayed if not lost, cause no one can tell me where it is.
If i have a problem, it seems that way, but it is with GLS, cause i think they are giving me false answers.
PS: i did post a question via twitter, it was answered right away "Very unlikely as it tracks on our system as leaving the UK on the 18/9/12, so we know the number was ok then", so thanks for the tip.

Re: Help with GLS. (Portugal)
@avenger: i think "TrueBlueTerrier" is right, i did over react, but has all can imagine it's very frustrating to have a package lost in the mail system, specially when is something important and that cost money, cause it was a purchase from ebay UK, i can't ask the seller for a refund, cause he actually posted the item and someone at GLS is delaying or lost it.

nonsense.
Unless the seller has proof of delivery, you can file a dispute

Re: Help with GLS. (Portugal)
yes, i agree, but in this case the seller did ship it with a tracking number, as an extra insurance, now i don't feel good with myself filling a dispute as the seller tried to make sure i got the package. I think until RM starts working again with CTT and let go of GLS, the right shipping method is untracked mail!avenger wrote:pedro_igreja wrote:@avenger: i think "TrueBlueTerrier" is right, i did over react, but has all can imagine it's very frustrating to have a package lost in the mail system, specially when is something important and that cost money, cause it was a purchase from ebay UK, i can't ask the seller for a refund, cause he actually posted the item and someone at GLS is delaying or lost it.

Another thing that's bugging me is that RM says "airmail" service, and GLS people told me that they only use surface mail!? How can this be?

It's because it's the usual case when dealing with Royal Mail-the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing most of the time!pedro_igreja wrote:yes, i agree, but in this case the seller did ship it with a tracking number, as an extra insurance, now i don't feel good with myself filling a dispute as the seller tried to make sure i got the package. Re: Help with GLS. (Portugal)
All that i know is that it is tracked, what services there are with tracked service?
Does regular airmail mail have an option for tracked mail, or just airsure and international signed for?
