This cannot go on any longer...

Please please please....

I would very much like to know why the mail delivered to TA6 6AU is always late on a saturday.... I mean ALWAYS....

A neighbour has told me we dont have our own postman and that the first one to finish there own round does it... Is this true??

Its a nightmare for me and all other residents on this stretch of road as we usually need to go to the post office after receiving our mail to pay bills etc.. The post office here closes at 1200 hours on a saturday so coming at 3 oclock or whatever is not really good enough..

Please please please give us our postman back :(

Sorry but we are NOT Royal Mail and we do try to warn you by having this on every page.
We have no affiliation with either Royal Mail or the Communications Workers Union (CWU), except that most of our members work for Royal Mail and/or are members of the CWU.
. If you want an official response its better to go to: http://www.royalmail.com/report-a-problem" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

However, yes it is entirely possible that the local office does not have enough posties to deliver all their rounds. In that case some will be done on overtime after their own. Hence delivery possible at any time. In my own area I have heard of one postie regularly delivering on overtime at 8pm.

I'm afraid RM can deliver up until 3pm or even 4pm in a rural area.

Surely you don't have to pay a bill the same day you receive it?

Do you pay to have your mail delivered by a certain time? If so then complain to your local delivery office.

If not, in what way is it late?

Also, why do you have to wait for your mail before going to the post office?

Thankyou for being so precise with your postcode information - Ashleigh Avenue looks rather nice on Google street view - can't really imagine "all other residents" rushing out as one on a saturday to pay bills though. Maybe you have exaggerated just a little bit for effect.

You are now experiencing the effect of downsizing a workforce to make in cost effective (also keeping stamp price rises to a minimum) - imagine for a moment how the delivery officer concerned feels when he should be at home with his family and instead is making sure that at least you do get your mail, however late it may be.

You will also be experiencing the effects of the Governments intention to make Royal Mail work in competition with others. These "Others" tend to deliver a very large proportion of the mail they handle to us for a saturday delivery ...and guess who uses these competitors??? .......... correct - all the people whose bills you have to pay. Please write to them and ask them to get their mail to us on a Tuesday for instance, when we have a little less to do.

The reason your post now comes at 3 o'clock is that 60,000 jobs have gone from Royal Mail in 10 years.
The response to this profit-driven degradation in service from the majority of the general public has been...."meh".
qui tacet consentire and it will only get worse.

I'm sorry to say that your street and and indeed town are not alone mail is being delivered later for many reasons mainly because in some p[laces it doesn't even arrive in the delivery office for sorting until after many people have left for work.

Also i noticed you are in Bridgwater, we cant be 100% sure what is going on there as this is mostly an anonymous forum , but i have heard rumours that they might be preparing to strike again, so i would guess that that there are some deep problems in your delivery office.

Thanks for everyones contribution on this thread but they registered then left the site 10 minutes later and haven't come back. Sounds like a drive by complaint.
