Olympic stamps

Post by basyguy »

Hi,

I placed an order for several Olympic FDCs back on the 10th August - delivery was supposed to be within 5 working days. 24th August received this via email:

'Dear Customer,

Thank you for the order you placed with our Royal Mail Online Shop.

Unfortunately, due to the unusually large number of orders we received, the order you placed may take up to 10 working days for delivery.

We pride ourselves on fulfilling orders placed on our Online Shop, for delivery within 5 working days and want to apologise for any inconvenience this delay may cause.

Yours faithfully,

Royal Mail
Tallents House'

It is now 17th September and still nothing! I haven't managed to find a Customer Service number where I can actually speak to a person. The closest I got was an automated message saying there were lots of enquiries and then I was cut off. All I want to do now is cancel the order and get a refund - any ideas who I can contact. I've never dealt with a company so difficult to contact before - not impressed!!

Do you tweet?

Royal Mail are on twitter @RoyalMail, this seems to be the most efficient way of getting through to customer services, and they do seem to be pretty on the ball.

as I'm sure many others on here would agree for a communications company RM are pretty diabolical even with their own employees.

Hello,

Thanks for the reply. I don't tweet, but guess I may have to look into it, albeit temporarily.

A little update. I contacted Royal Mail via their Facebook page and managed to get two answers within a few hours. At the moment the problem has only been passed onto someone else, but certainly more progress than the 'Customer service' phone line.

Anything in the public domain will almost certainly get a response.
