Interview
Hi, i had an interview a few days ago and it went pretty well, they basically said i have a job but they need to wait for the CRB check to come back. In the interview i told them i had no unspent convictions, but i have just looked online and my offence from the past is still unspent for another 5 years that i didnt know about. Will this stop me getting a job? Any help appreciated.

Re: Interview
Depends on the a couple of things - The nature of the conviction - if it was an honesty crime such as theft or deception then yes it would probably affect your chances.
However most convictions are spent after 5 years so if you have another 5 years to go the original offence may be such that it could affect your application. If its a new offence then again it would depend on the circumstances.
My advice would be to contact the recruitment people and fess up. If you try to conceal it they will eventually discover the deception and dismiss you immediately. If you are honest, and the conviction is minor, they may appreciate your honesty.
