I got a "Dear Customer" letter yesterday from the Newcastle City Delivery Office, Delivery Sector Manager.
It starts by saying "Important information about changes to Royal Mail services in your area".
What "important information?". I read the whole letter and it tells me absolutely nothing important about modernisation.
It mentions that the time we receive mail MAY change. That is about it.
Oh yes, the posties are getting new equipment and their routes might change. What does that have to do with customers?
What a waste of time and money posting out all these letters that say nothing. I guess it is a way for the Delivery Sector Manager to tick a box saying he has kept the public informed.
How pathetic.

Re: MODERNISATION LETTER
It's actually the same letter nationwide, except for the names and area names. Do you live near Plymouth? Look at the address you can contact him on if you have any 'questions or concerns'... (I'm near M'cr, bear that in mind when you look at the address)sharky wrote:I got a "Dear Customer" letter yesterday from the Newcastle City Delivery Office, Delivery Sector Manager.

Re: MODERNISATION LETTER
If there's a fault with this standard nationwide letter it's that you, as the recipient of mail, are NOT Royal Mail's customer, it's the sender who pays for it that is.sharky wrote:I got a "Dear Customer" letter yesterday from the Newcastle City Delivery Office, Delivery Sector Manager.

Trying to look on the bright side though, can you think of anything positive about Royal Mail or about this site ?

Both his posts have been moaning, one about the F**k off Smilies and the other rant about his modernisation letter.............me thinks he may have got the address wrong and he should have gone to http://www.dailymailwhineymoanyblameito ... igrant.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Methinks he's a Daily Mail 'journalist' venturing on here for a bit relaxation in his spare time.DGP1 wrote:Both his posts have been moaning, one about the F**k off Smilies and the other rant about his modernisation letter.............me thinks he may have got the address wrong and he should have gone to http://www.dailymailwhineymoanyblameito ... igrant.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: MODERNISATION LETTER
But if it begins Dear Customer....and they sent it to him.......surely he is entitled to think he is the customer.Lounge Lizard wrote: If there's a fault with this standard nationwide letter it's that you, as the recipient of mail, are NOT Royal Mail's customer, it's the sender who pays for it that is.![]()
If the sender is the customer....that's us. Why are we wasting money sending letters not to ourselves about stuff we already don't know?
And he's right. It is a tick-box exercise. We're good at that.
We should paint a post box gold every time we tick a box.
