Hi there,

Sounds like a good argument for failure to make a reasonable adjustment.

Remember the 3-month time-limit for a tribunal case. You'll be able to smell a rat if there's any delaying tactics that just happen by coincidence. You can fill in the ET1 online. Get the proper advice through the union, or CAB might be worth a try.

Good luck,

Good luck with the meeting I have been going through the self same thing for over a year with my dom :arrrghhh

Make sure everything is written down as my manager even chnaged the agreement after we had concluded what was to be delivered :arrrghhh

Also make sure what you say you can do, as they will use the same geo route against you and I have noticed it is way out to what you can achieve .
Dont get fobbed off with they cannot make adjustments as they can it just needs thinking ou the box which RM managers are unable to do.

I am on a 3hr delivery this means I can only walk for 3hrs but at present I am made to stay in to do dead letters for an hour before going out on delivery, maybe if you drive you could do part drive and part walk.

on the negative side I have been made to go over my time most days as dom would not agree delivery span only what geo route says and this has made me go over most days, If i cutt off I am then threatend with IHR so I have been putting everything down in a diary each day, But this will be used soon whan I have a meeting before I pick my next duty as we are going through a revision based only on geo route should be interesting times.

Keep us informed of what goes on in the meeting I had the disability champion on two of my meetings nad are manages and reps, it is quite stressful but hang in there

I would just like to add that with your doctor and atos saying that you would qualify to be covered under the equality act that you will be fine and royal mail will make reasonable adjustment. But if your office is like the one that i work in it will be the postman that you work with that will be the problem
there are two in my office and the harassment that they receive from the staff is outrages. It makes me ashamed that they are part of the union you just wonder if they even realize what being part of union is :no no

Not much to add, but yes this is a case of discrimination.

You should have had an I.R.A (individual risk assement) and if you had or are going through a D.M revision then this should have been picked by the 121's.

The next debate would be around the reasonable adjustment requirements, but in my unit I have two people performing walks with the assistance of a third person due to resonable adjustment under the equality act.

Also don't forget you have the use of the DAC:
Below is there statement of Disabled employees.

Disability Action Centre (DAC)
