DESPATCHABLE TOSURFACE SF - SURF NO TRACK

Hi, Can anyone tell me why my parcel that I paid for tracking on has gone without tracking? This has happened on two surface parcels now in the past two months and the last one got lost so I'm kind of worried ;( they used to go surface with tracking.

This is what ones I sent surface used to say (RJ877533609GB)
24/04/12 13:09 RECEIVED AT OEBEIJING CHINA BEIJING CHINA
19/04/12 AM DESPATCHED TOBEIJING CHINA CHINA

Now two in the past two months have said. (RI810866233GB)

I think they have changed something but the woman on the phone wouldn't admit to it.

I don't see the difference really
its down to the receiving country to provide tracking data
RM could dump it in a bag with no scan at all,or scan its every foot to the plane.

Because its never said DESPATCHABLE TOSURFACE SF - SURF NO TRACK before and with the last one that said this go missing I'm starting to worry. I can't even find this anywhere online, loads of people must sent things to China so I would of thought someone else would of got this on his or her tracking information.

We can only control things at our end, when it leaves the UK, we have no control over it.

China is having a bad reputation for scams and its getting worse, so the problem could be at their end.

But that's the thing it doesn't even say "DESPATCHED" like the old ones, the new ones just say DESPATCHABLE. What proof do I even have that it's even left the uk. I wouldn't mind if it's always said the same thing but it hasn't and to have the last one get lost that said that really worries me. I just wish royal mail had someone to contact that really knows whats going on. Well I guess I'll just have to wait and see if this one gets there. :( Thanks for trying to help guys.

Nothing posted by surface gets tracked. With airmail your item would get scanned on both ends, but with surface it is just put on a boat.
The difference may be in what itgems were sent by you. What was in the second set of packets? was it anything prohibited to send by air? eg batteries or anything which once had fuel in it?

Both had clothes and all the surface ones before that that did get tracked on both ends and had clothes in them too. I think something has changed because what else could it be, anyway I've learned my lesson now to never use royal mails now useless to me surface service.

What I said before didn't sound right, the surface service before this happened always worked fine and was even faster than advertised, but as I've said the past two items have tracked different than before, one even getting lost and no one seems to know why. Also I know royal mail always say that it's only tracked till it leaves the UK but from sending many things to China I know that all of them track fully right up until delivery. I just wish royal mail could tell me something useful like why the tracking is different then before with surface and not just type the tracking number in to box and tell me what I already know.

Royal mail is the cheapest by far and yes I know I get what I pay for, just wish it was what I was paying for before and not what I am now.

How do you know it got lost Royal Mail end and not 'China Post' end?

That's just it I don't know where it gets lost all I know is the tracking is not the same, it doesn't even say DESPATCHED TOBEIJING CHINA like it used to say. I just would like to know why it's changed but like I said I asked the woman and she said it's always said that I didn't show her all my other surface tracking codes but it shows no one even knows what's going on. I thought the first time it happened that it was a one off and that would be it but no it's happened again, if this second one gets lost then it proves to me something is wrong.
Months ago I even sent none signed for ones to China using surface and none got lost but now I've had two none signed for get lost and one surface tracked (with the new different tracking information) Airmail tracked so far is 100% successful. The one thing that's changed is royal mails tracking info from what I can see oh and that's after the price ingress, I don't know if this has anything to do with it. :hmm

BTW I think you guys do a good job and I'm not pointing the finger at anyone here. If there is a problem it's the people at the top that changed something
