Other than parcels, and stuff for business, when was the last time you sent by mail, or received, a personal letter or postcard (to/from friend or family)?
I am a Postcrosser, and penpaller. I send nice post.

Personal mail was never very high, Christmas, birthdays and holidays would be the main times people send 'post' but most of the mail has been business mail for at least the past 10 years (and I'm sure for a lot longer before that).

And in answer, sent some cards on Monday and received some last month and I expect to receive a few more in the next week or so.

I don't often post anything.....billy no mates and all that. But I did recently post an expenses claim. The last thing I want to do when I get home is have anything to do with letters, bit like going round a builders house and the place looks like a building site.

Today, I posted a postcard to Russia.... And today, I received penpal letters from US, Lithuania, and Qatar (sent my letter there on the 6th, quite a speedy turnaround time), and a few Postcrossing postcards. I love receiving nice post. I think for many people, the only post that arrives is either bills, advertising or junk mail.

Today was a good mail day :) I love receiving nice post!

One letter I received yesterday said, "... the average American allows 41 days to lapse since writing anything by hand: what gets lost with the months between using a pen to express thoughts or give messages?"
