Hi guys.
Can anyone help me? I ordered an item from a company selling through Amazon.co.uk and was given an estimated delivery time of two weeks. Well anyway, today was the final day of the estimated delivery time, therefore I got in touch with the seller and informed them of the issue. They informed me that the package had been dispatched the day after the ordered was placed and that it had been signed for on the 26th May.
In their response they issued me with a tracking number to enter into Royal Mails track and trace system. Upon entering the number it confirmed what they said, it had been delivered and signed for on the 26th May 2012. I also noticed a link to electronic proof of delivery, so naturally I wanted to see the signature that had been used to sign for my parcel, but all I got was the bottom of an 'A,I 8' and a little bit of barcode. I thought it would allow you to see the signature along with the other details, well that's what it states.
I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to do next. Other than assuming that my neighbour has it, the only thing I can think of it has been delivered to an address which is just up the road that has a very similar street name to mine, but that would suggest that someone has had my parcel for two whole weeks and not bothered to inform me. Its quite an expensive item costing £154.00, so I am a little anxious as to where it has gone. To be honest this is the first problem I have ever had with RM, in fact my first postal problem yet. My deliveries are normally always sent via Royal Mail or City Sprint, both which I have always found reliable.
Any advice regarding this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Get back in touch with the sender first of all. State that you haven't received your parcel. It has not been signed by you nor at anyone at your address.

Re: Missing package, need some advice?
Got in touch with the company, who have been in contact with Royal Mail. Apparently Royal Mail say that it is at the receiving end, therefore, I have to contact them to confirm I have not received the parcel.
So what happens next, am I going to be waiting ages for my package to show up, if so how long? Months, weeks, days? They said that this will make them open up a ticket and chase the location of the parcel? Is this a timely process, as its heading towards a month since I placed the order, which was supposed to be next day signed for!
Any info would be great!
Thanks

It's up to the company sending the goods,
http://whatconsumer.co.uk/mail-order-go ... e-selling/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Under the distance selling regulations, the goods must be delivered or the service carried out within the time period they have specified. If no time period is specified, then the statutory time limit is 30 days (unless you have agreed otherwise). If the supplier is unable to fulfil their obligations within 30 days, they must inform you before the end of the 30 day deadline. They may offer you an alternative date for delivery, but you are under no obligation to accept and are quite within your rights to ask for a full refund.

have you asked which delivery office the item was delievered from, i have had a few dodgy ebayers give a reference number for an item sent to someone else and insist it was sent to you, then withdraw the cash from their account and close down the paypal account so as not to lose the cash on charge back, all they need to do is get you to wait for about a month whilst they scam you and others giving excuses to get as much cash out as possible, may not be this reason but one to check out.Chippie86 wrote: In their response they issued me with a tracking number to enter into Royal Mails track and trace system. also just for you info, if parcel ref number starts AI its probably only been sent by reorded delivery so the level of compensation that royal mail would pay out is well below the £154 value of the item

I also think you need to go back to the sender. They need to raise the incident with royal mail. It is their responsibility not yours. If they ask you to contact Royal Mail just insist they do it for you. If the item was sent recorded delivery it is not trackable but there will be a signature if the item was signed for. Have you checked with delivery office just in case it is there by any chance. Not likely but possible. If an item is not received after 15 working days it would be classed as "lost " . Or as a denial of receipt.

I have just checked the Amazon website and amazon will take it up for you with a market place trader if you paid for the item on their website.

Re: Missing package, need some advice?
As the above posters have said, it's the sender who is the ultimate customer. RM may send you a form to confirm that you haven't received the package. This is just to confirm that the sender is being honest with them.
And have you tried the number again in the track and trace to see if the signature has been updated yet?
Was it sent special delivery (next day) or recorded signed for?Is this a timely process, as its heading towards a month since I placed the order, which was supposed to be next day signed for!
