Hello,
I have a question about a delivery from Royal Mail towards me. The item has been shipped by Airsure in an envelope and since saturday (shortly after the sending) the status is "Your item, posted on 02/06/12 with reference LY471903486GB has been received at our international mail centre and is being made ready for despatch overseas."
How long does it take to be despatched by plane towards Germany. Can you tell me where the package is at the moment and how long does it take to be shipped to Germany from now on, as Airsure is advertised on your homepage with 2 to 3 days from UK to Western Europe.
Who will deliver the mail in Germany GLS or DHL or Deutsche Post
Thanks for your patience and help

We are NOT an Official site for Royal Mail so we cannot give you an official answer.
However as the 2nd was Saturday and we are on a Jubilee Bank Holiday till Wednesday my GUESS is it would arrive in Germany Wednesday or Thursday. The 2 to 3 days is usually working days.
Deutsche Post or GLS will deliver it I think what it depends on I am not sure but GLS is a Subsidiary of Royal Mail, but we also use the National Postal Service in most countries.

Thanks,
I am just thinking if it is still in Scottland/UK or if it allready left UK and is in Germany/Continental Europe.
That you have holiday cause of the 60th jubilee of the queen, I know.
We have local holiday here on Thursday so it could be Wednesday or Friday, you think?

Re: Sending from Scottland to Germany
Looks like the item hasn't left the UK yet:
Your tracked items details
Reference number: LY471903486GB
Date Time Status Track point
02/06/12 15:54 DESPATCHABLE TOHWDC AIRSURE GLASGOW MAIL CENTRE
02/06/12 14:26 COLLECTED GLASGOW MAIL CENTRE
02/06/12 11:16 ACCEPTED AT POL Barrys G44 4EH
That's from http://www.royalmail.com/trackdetails" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; which is a more detailed version on RM's website which anyone can use.
It's probably still at Glasgow MC still though it could be at a distribution centre between Glasgow MC and HWDC (HWDC is the one that dispatches international items). It'll probably head out the UK either tomorrow or Thursday, depending on how far down to Heathrow the item got before the bank holiday. You might want to allow a day or two on top of that as there is bound to be a surge in the number of items passing through the system (all the stuff been ordered from companies like Amazon from Sat evening through to whenever they resume dispatching items.

Thanks for that detailed tracking page. So the envelope is still on the island. Hopefully it will be processed fast tomorrow after your bank holidays and arrive fast at my place.SpacePhoenix wrote:Looks like the item hasn't left the UK yet:

Do the workers start working back tonight for processing and despatching for tomorrow morning?
Are flights normally during day or night? Does Royalmail has own planes or are they using normal passenger planes to transfer there stuff
Thank you all for answering
